02/07/2025 - SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS PART 2!!!
Hey all, Shirley here! I come with another developer longplay of PyNori (although a tad outdated, since due to technical issues it took quite a while to edit, so by the time this was finished, which was just last night, 2 PyNori updates have come out since I first recorded the video).
So, if you haven't been following PyNori on Twitter* (which I understand if you're not, it's unfortunately one of the worst platforms ever yet it's good for publicity), a little over 2 weeks ago, I ordered a 2011 MacBook Air off of eBay. It came without MacOS installed, so I had to do that myself. I had to do a bit of Redditing to get the MacBook back on its feet at first, but after I got 10.8 installed (Mountain Lion), it was smooth sailing from there. I got all the way to 10.12 (Sierra) without issues, but 10.13 (High Sierra) was a tad bit of a roadblock, but after watching a tutorial from Mr. Macintosh, I got it working. Then I installed the latest version of Python and recorded the aforementioned longplay!
* (Or you're new here)
Small problem, though, I scheduled the video to come out tomorrow at noon (2/8/2025). It's still the 7th as of writing this, so you'll have to come back later if you want to watch the longplay, but here's the link ahead of time!
Ooh, something you'll have to come back to! How scary. Don't forget!
I decided to change things up for this longplay and include commentary. Hopefully it's not too chaotic or weird. I also thought "why not test this MacBook's capabilities before getting into the real deal?" so that's why the 3 test clips are there before the gameplay starts.
Do note that, now that I've been able to do playtesting of my own on MacOS, I was able to get the game working without you needing to tweak a bunch of stuff. HOWEVER, I incorrectly changed how the "quirk speech" audio files are loaded, so quirks unfortunately crash the game on MacOS. I also have yet to get the tutorial working properly on MacOS. All of this will be fixed in v1.3.0. It's a tad too late to release a v1.2.2, so... just wait a bit longer, okay? I promise you it'll be worth it.
Anyway, tomorrow at noon! Don't forget! Shirley out.
